Reneé Mink is a Certified Massage Therapist and Holistic Health Practitioner. She received her degree in Holistic Health from the International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) in San Diego in 2013. Reneé founded her practice Integrative Bodywork with the belief that the body is a powerful ally in achieving personal wellness goals.
“We live in a society that often encourages ignoring our bodies’ kinesthetic sense or felt sense. Imagine a typical school classroom: an instructor stands in front of the students and gives a lecture with visual aids. Students are expected to quietly listen, be still, take notes, and only participate when called on. Information is presented visually and aurally, and though more teachers today incorporate hands-on activities, lecture is still the primary format that most school employ. A good teacher understands that all of us land on a spectrum of visual, aural, and kinesthetic learners. Most people are not solely one or the other, but combinations of the three.”
Whether or not you feel you are a kinesthetic learner, you still began your journey learning everything through touch. As we form in the womb, a dark and mostly quiet place, we learn through what we can feel. You can see this in small children, ready to grab any new thing and pop it into their mouths. They are feeling everything! We all have a kinesthetic sense that has been informing our understanding of ourselves and our external world from the very beginning.
What does this have to do with bodywork? Many illnesses diagnosed today are lifestyle related. Many people suffer with symptoms and conditions such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, digestive problems, anxiety, fibromyalgia, migraines, panic attacks, eating disorders, anger, depression, and so much more. A large number of these people cannot find relief through conventional treatments and many are misdiagnosed. Integrative Bodywork offers the unique opportunity to experience what your body has to say in a safe and therapeutic environment. By learning to interpret your body’s feedback you are better able to effect positive change in your health!
Integrative Bodywork includes many types of massage and movement therapies. As your practitioner I will listen to your needs, and together we will create a personalized experience utilizing a blend of techniques designed to support your individual wellness goals.”
Since beginning her work as a massage therapist in 2012, Reneé has sought to educate the public about the kinesthetic sense and the necessity of self-care for better functioning and wellness. She is educated in a variety of massage modalities including Deep Tissue Sculpting, Tuina, Circulatory Massage, Relational Somatics, Biodynamic Craniosacral, Structural Organization, and more. She has provided volunteer massage therapy for the deaf community through Deaf Community Services of San Diego. Because of her outreach, Deaf Community Services continues to have massage therapy students provide complementary bodywork sessions to the deaf community.
As founder of Integrative Bodywork, my mission is to create a safe, therapeutic environment to provide clients with personalized high-quality massage therapy that offers the opportunity to free fascial constrictions, expand kinesthetic literacy, and facilitate healing.
In providing this service, I seek to educate others in the importance of recognizing the vital role the body plays in releasing trauma, assimilating change, and personal growth.” Reneé Mink, AS, HHP, CMT #39619
